Henna is an amazing plant, it is applied for luck as well as the beauty and playful, and its qualities for hair are several. Henna makes your hair softer, shinier, and stronger. Henna mehndi can be mixed with various colors. Henna contains a chemical molecule 'Lawsone' that is responsible for the red color. 'Lawsone' by itself is colorless, but when exposed to Henna Mehndi Suppliers sunlight or to the air, it gets converted into a new complex that has the characteristic of red color. When henna powder mixed with a liquid, Henna release Lawsone, which penetrates inside the hair and leave the coloring effect. Binding with keratin strengthen, protect and make the hair thicker.
When henna is applied to the hair it transfers 'Lawsone' of the henna powder into the matrix of the hair shaft. When we rinse off hair, 'Lawsone' stays behind and immediately react with the environment to become carrot brown color. The exact reddishness depends upon the other natural pigments in the hair and also on the current color of hair.
Henna powder is diluted with just a liquid to form a paste, in contact with water, it releases its Henna pigment red / orange, lawsone. Once you dilute henna powder with water then it let rest, minimum 1 hour and 12 ideally, so that the pigment is released.
