Reetha (Indian Soapnut) is a tree with unique medicinal properties. Its nuts form flower of ‘Sapindus Mucorasai’ which are natural ingredients of traditional Ayurveda and Ayurvedic recipes. Reetha powder is prepared through dried fruit of Reetha. The dried fruit of Reetha is the most expensive part. The heavy part is rich in ‘Saponins’ which generate foam and used as a cleaning agent. Reetha powder is a natural cleaner for the skin. When we used Reetha powder on the skin, the powder cleans the pores and provides smooth breathing skin. It also improves the texture of the skin over a period of use.
When we use Reetha as a shampoo, it cleans hair deeply and is also recommende for washing oily hair. Reetha powder deep cleans and gives your hair a natural shine. It has excellent foaming properties and is alsdo suggested for the laundry, including washing silk and clothes made of wool. It is also used for the maintenance of silver, gold and utensils.
Reetha powder can be used alone or with shikakai easily. Put 1 to 2 tablespoon of powder in a bowl and add water and mix well to create a thick paste and gently massage the paste into the hair and scalp. Wait 5-6 minute and rinse thoroughly with water.
Warning: Reetha powder is very irritating to the eyes, so keep it away from eyes.
